"Did you see The Hand of God? ... His pistol." Manufactured "under the blue dome" of the old Colt Armory to exacting specifications by the U.S. Firearms Co., this authenticated Single Action Army revolver is the iconic screen used Hand of God carried and put to good use by Russell Crowe in his starring role as Ben Wade in the 2007 feature western "3:10 to Yuma". The film follows outlaw Ben Wade and his gang as they menace Arizona in the 1880s, brutally robbing an armored stage with his infamous Hand of God revolver in hand. After being captured, a down-on-his-luck rancher offers to escort Wade to make the 3:10 train to Yuma, where he would be imprisoned. The perilous journey with Wade's gang in tow builds respect between the outlaw and his captor, who eventually would lose his life bringing Wade to justice. The Hand of God revolver is accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity and Bill of Sale signed by Crowe's gun coach and movie armorer Thell Reed listing it by serial number and detailing its use in the film and iconic features. A DVD copy of the movie featuring Crowe with this revolver on the cover is also included. The Hand of God is built with a 4 - 3/4" polished blued barrel, .45 Colt chambering, 6-shot fluted cylinder, and case hardened frame. As specially made for the film, the grips are smooth ebony inlaid with 18K gold crucifixes on each side. At the request of Russell Crowe, the trigger guard has also been slimmed for better handling. CONDITION: Very good. The original finishes have been "broken in" with some holster wear and thinning on the grip straps, creating a very attractive Western outlaw used appearance. The grips have some minor handling marks by are otherwise very fine. Very strong, lightly frosted bore. Especially fine, tuned mechanics fit for a gunfighter. An extremely rare offering of a truly iconic movie gun. A real piece of modern cinema history!
