Action built as 1903 Springfield by Springfield Armory in 1939 and subsequently rebuilt by Griffin and Howe circa 1950. 22" round tapered blued barrel with hooded ramp front sight, Griffin and Howe New York address marking, no rear sight boss, and marked at breech "30/06 GOVT" with band front sling swivel stud. Matching blued 1903 frame marked with serial number and standard military style bolt modified, jeweled, and checkered for scope use with milled blued military style floorplate. Action fitted with Griffin and Howe 2 lever detachable scope mount and period Kollmorgen 4x power scope and Lyman 48S rear peep sight. Custom checkered walnut pistol grip stock with ebony nose cap, Biesen style steel checkered buttplate, and silver oval vanity plaque marked with original owner's initials. CONDITION: Overall 98%, with small handling marks and light edge wear. Excellent bore and mechanics. Clear optics.
