Mauser 98 action, most likely originally built as a military rifle then customized by German gunsmith F. Peter of Wiesbaden, Germany, circa the 1950s. Blued 24" round tapered barrel with hooded ramp front sight, fixed 2 notched leaf rear sight, and marked at breech "30/06 GOVT" with chisel oak leaf engraved at breech. Full coverage of heavy oak leaf chisel engraving on blued action, modified for scope use, with blued milled military-style floorplate, engraved en suite with a deer game scene. Action fitted with "F. Peter Wiesbaden Gunsmith" marked detachable scope mount and period Nickel 4x power scope. Custom skipline checkered walnut pistol grip stock with carved oak leaf borders, carved game scenes near butt, an exaggerated comb, right-handed cheekpiece, swelled action sides with white diamond inlays, ebony nose cap, Pachmayr vented recoil pad, and European style sling swivels. CONDITION: Overall 98% with small handling marks and light edge wear. Excellent bore and mechanics. Clear optics. Small chip missing on stock in front of scope mount with ding behind tang.
