Made in Belgium in the standard configuration, with the distinct two-tone blued barrel and French Greyed frame. Exhibition grade walnut stock and forearm, of a wonderful feather crotch walnut with pistol grip and checkered about the wrist in a flat top pattern with mullered borders. Frame is engraved in semi-relief by J. Baerten in the standard Grade III pattern, depicting hunting scenes, including a German longhaired pointed alerting on a covey of pheasants, 2 mid takeoff and 1 still nesting, a pointer with a mallard in his mouth on the top, and another long hair pointer on right side flushing a trio of mallards. Signed by Baerten on the bottom of both scenes. Baerten is particularly notable as a Master Engraver at Browning from 1955-1987. In the correct Browning hard case.CONDITION: Excellent, probably NOS or equivalent. Only the most minor of marks from handling and shop wear; possibly unfired. Mechanically fine, bore has strong rifling and only traces of use. Wood is commensurate with excellent figure. Case excellent.
