Circa 1894. An English made 12 gauge hammer non-ejector shotgun. It is fit with 30" browned Damascus nitro proved barrels with rib extension third fastener and a tapered, flat, filed game rib fit with a brass bead front sight. The rib is left barrel is roll marked "ROBERT JONES MONARCH GUN WORKS" while the right barrel is roll marked "MANCHESTER ST LIVERPOOL". Modern London Nitro proof with proper reproof marks from 1993 and 2003, Modern proved for 2 - 3/4" cartridges at proof pressure of 850 BAR; Briley interchangeable choke tubes are installed in each barrel. The coin finished action is engraved with English arabesque scrolls with "ROBERT JONES" on both sides near the action's water table; the trigger plate are blacked. The action is fit with rebounding hammers, Greener style cross bolt fastener and side clips, black, smooth and double triggers. Triggers are protected by a blacked and engraved guard with scrolls. Bottom tang with similar scroll. Best quality walnut stock with traditional English straight hand grip, vacant stock oval, 1" leather covered recoil pad. Splinter forend with Anson style release. The shotgun is presented in a leather trunk case with brass corners and accessories. The case has a paper "ROBERT JONES" label on the interior of the lid along with a small paper card. Top of case stamped with the initials "C.W.". CONDITION: Excellent. Barrel bores are bright and shiny, ring well, and are tight on face. Triggers are crisp. Slight handling marks on buttstock and forend. Case is very good with handling and use marks. A fantastic gun.
