Circa 1890. Nitro proofed brown Damascus 30" barrels. Barrels fit with 2 - 3/4" chambers, ejectors, and locking extension off of rib. Barrel rib is smooth, concave, with fit with small round steel front bead sight. Rib reads "JOHN DICKSON & SONS. 63 PRINCE STREET. EDINBURGH" and with "2" engraved. Barrel flats with proofs, "2 3/4", makers stamp "J.D&S". Barrel bottoms stamped with proofs, "BNP" and "12-70". Chokes are Improved Cylinder in left and Modified in right. Coin finished action with full coverage scroll reads "JOHN DICKSON & SON PATENT" in banner. Action furnished with third fastener and gold cocking indicators alongside blacked engraved and checkered top lever. Action is also built with fire blued, engraved, checkered safe slide. "SAFE" is in gold. Fire blued bladed double triggers are protected by a blacked scroll engraved trigger guard extending to a full-length bottom strap with serial number. Gun is non-auto safe. Traditional oil finished stock with sharp English straight hand stock, vacant silver oval, and finished by a checkered butt. Splinter forend with sharp checkering, engraved escutcheon, Anson push button release and silver "2" inlaid at pin. Gun lives is a vintage leather case with brass corners and paper "JOHN DICKSON & SON" trade label. Case fit with snap caps and cleaning accessories. CONDITION: Excellent as rebuilt/renovated. Barrels excellent. Action, triggers and ejectors are sound. Stock and forend are excellent. Nice gun!

CORRECTION: Gun has been subsequently fitted with a later set of barrels which have been shortened from their original length of 30" to 29".
