A boutique pistol from a boutique company, the Nighthawk VIP (Very Impressive Pistol), was designed to be a more aesthetically pleasing example than Nighthawk's tactical models. Brushed Antique Nickel finish with 14K gold bead front sight and Heine ledge rear sight. Hand engraved with acanthus scroll with punchdot background shading. Small parts comprise a lightened commander style hammer single sided safety, extended magazine release, curved solid trigger, beavertail grip safety with speed bump, and fluted front and backstraps; one piece mainspring housing and magwell. Giraffe bone grips. Nighthawk gunsmith initials "DM" (Don Morris?) under left scale, no engraver signature noted. Housed in the correct Nighthawk presentation case with suede lining, French fit for pistol and 2 magazines; 2 total magazines, both jeweled bodied Chip McCormick Power Mags. CONDITION: Excellent; appears to be NOS or equivalent, with some superficial scratches mixed in with the brushed finish. Some other very minor handling marks. Grips are excellent and show good grain and color. Mechanically fine, tight, bore is excellent, bright and shiny with crisp rifling. case excellent. An outstanding gun from a well-respected maker.
