It is believed Colt only produced 250 of these highly attractive and desirable AR-15A2 Government Model (R6550CC) rifles in 1989 fully finished in Z-Cote woodland tiger stripe camouflage. Rifle features a chrome lined HBAR barrel marked "C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7" with birdcage flash hider and black plastic muzzle cover. A2 style protected post front sight with bayonet lug and adjustable carry handle mounted rear aperture sight. Pre-ban lower stamped on the left with Colt trademark and manufacture information. Front of magazine well bears a correct "Z" verifying the Z-Cote finish. A2 polymer furniture includes 2-piece ribbed handguard, checkered pistol grip, and fixed position stock with trap butt plate. Rifle is complete with a 20-round aluminum Colt magazine and brown leather AA & E sling. CONDITION: Excellent. Nearly all of the factory camo finish is displayed throughout with only mild handling marks. Excellent mirror bore. Mechanically fine. Magazine shows wear but is very good overall. Sling is supple and very serviceable. A true holy grail AR-15 for the advanced collector.
