(A) SMITH & WESSON FIRST MODEL .44 DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER.

Offered from 1881 to 1913, all frames manufactured prior to 1899. Blued finish. 6 - 1/2" ribbed barrel with 2-line address and half moon front sight. 6-shot fluted cylinder chambered in .44 S&W. Grips are 2-piece diamond checkered S&W monogrammed hard rubber. CONDITION: Good. Traces of original blue are retained with an overall cleaned gunmetal patina. Grips show wear with scattered impressions. Bore is bright with strong, well defined rifling and some minor pitting. Mechanically fine. Full matching serial numbers observed on frame, cylinder, latch, and scratched inside the right grip.
