Circa 1985 per AN proof. 28" mono-bloc Excelsior steel barrels are equipped with a white plastic front bead and have a vacant slot for a mid bead on the solid, tapered, concave rib. Left barrel with "P. Beretta - Gardone V.T -ITALY- (PB logo)". Right side with import information for Berben, left with original designations for 2 - 3/4" chambers and F/M chokes; currently installed Briley chokes are IC in both barrels. Barrel flats with proofs for choked 70mm barrels with a nominal 18.5 IBD. Typical Beretta engraving at breeches and bloc line. Beavertail forearm with Anson style plunger release and matching serial number on interior iron. Checkered in point and wave pattern. Sideplated boxlock action is engraved with a pair of snipes in a meadow on left plate and a pair of mallards in a marshland on right, both accented with scroll, with bottom of action engraved scrollwork, a bouquet of roses, and Beretta's information and model; engravers signature on left side of trigger guard reads "Bottega C. Giovanelli", a company that currently employs approximately 20 full time staff members and is headed by the legendary Dario Cortini. Single selective inertia driven trigger with shoe, nonauto safety. Pistol grip stock is cast off for a right handed shooter and checkered in two panels about the grip. Wood is an attractive, relatively straight grained fiddleback walnut with a silver oval at toeline and fit with a decelerator pad. House in an aluminum Americase with a Beretta manual, lock, and a leather barrel grasp, with graphics of 2 broken pigeons in lid. CONDITION: Overall very good, barrels reatain virtually all of their bluing, probably applied when the modifications to configuration were done, with some very minor marks. Barrels ring like bells and lock up tight. Forearm is very good with some minor handling marks. Action is very good, with a few very minor spots of patina, most visible on right sideplate. Stock is excellent with minor handling marks. Mechanically fine, bores are excellent with some very minor frosting towards muzzle. Ejectors are in time. Case excellent. A gun ready for clays!
