Exceptional condition original, lustrous finish Harrington and Richardson Reising Model 50 machine gun with 29 fin barrel and compensator. 4 original 20-round magazines, as well as the original Federal Laboratories black trunk case, are included with this lot. The Reising Model 50 is a high-quality machine gun that was fielded in limited numbers to the Marine Corps during World War II when there were insufficient Thompson machine guns to meet military demand. The Reising has the intrinsic accuracy advantage of firing from a closed bolt. Police departments took to the Reising, and a semi-automatic model was also produced in response to civilian private factory security demands. Today, the Reising Model 50 has gained popularity as a well-made and fun .45 entry-level machine gun. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original, lustrous blue finish on both gun and magazines. Wood is in exceptional original condition with only the slightest of handling marks. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select-fire machine gun. Original trunk case retains Federal Laboratories sticker and is extremely fine with a high percentage of original black finish with some light corrosion to the metal furnishings. Leather handle is present and serviceable. It would be pretty hard to upgrade the condition of this ensemble. Investment or museum-level offering for the most discerning collector/investor. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2023-12-62
