Restored lustrous blue finish Harrington and Richardson Reising Model 50 machine gun with 29 fin barrel and compensator. 3 original 20-round magazines are included with this lot. The Reising Model 50 is a high-quality machine gun that was fielded in limited numbers to the Marine Corps during WWII when there were insufficient Thompson machine guns to meet military demand. Firing from a closed bolt gave an advantage to the firer over the Thompson, which fires from an open bolt. Police departments took to the Reising, and a semi-automatic model was also produced in response to civilian private factory security needs. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent lustrous blue refinish on gun with lustrous blue original finish on the 20 round magazines. Wood is near excellent as sanded and refinished to have a very blonde color with side-mounted sling swivels. Bore is near excellent shiny and bright. Bolt face near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select-fire machine gun. Just exactly the kind of machine gun to take to the range, and an attractive opportunity for someone as an entry-level machine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2023-12-68
