Excellent high condition Finnish Lahti anti-tank gun on its distinctive ski-bipod with 4 magazines, 2 original magazine carriers and 20 original brass cased rounds, some blue and others black projectiles. Original muzzle cover on large muzzle break. Reproduction shoulder rest at rear of receiver, and replacement threaded screw with washers retaining rubber bumper at ejection plate forward of trigger. Manufactured at the Finnish State Rifle Factory “VKT”, it is marked “20pst.kiv/39” with typical “SA” marking above SN on left side of receiver. Barrel is "VKT" marked and numbered 1896. Designed in 1939, these anti-tank guns were not available in any quantity until the war with the Soviet Union in 1941. They were effective and useful against vehicles and light tanks, as well as in long-range sniper and bunker destruction roles. Exceedingly well made, although heavy to transport for one man, the “Crank to cock" action make them tremendously fun to shoot. The action of this particular specimen is extremely smooth. Electronic NFA registry indicates "LAHTI" as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish extremely fine with smooth gray original finish thinning in places to gray metal. There is a nick at the bottom of the case deflector plate on the right side which appears to be a bullet strike. Wooden cooling jacket is extremely fine condition with a 2 1/2" crack at rear which does not detract. Reproduction shoulder piece in the white with some brown patina. Nice hard black rubber on shoulder rest. Magazines have near excellent original blue lustrous finish. Carriers are extremely fine with original paint and serviceable web straps. Bore has shiny well-defined rifling with some pitting within 6” of the muzzle. These are a sought-after recreational firearm in the United States. This is a fine opportunity for the collector who wants a finely made 20 mm rifle from WW2. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS A "DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE". JWK 2023-12-61
