A beautiful and extremely rare and important stained glass window by Marion Mahony Griffin. This window came from the house of Gerald and Hattie Mahony in Elkhart, Indiana. Mahony designed this farmhouse for her brother, Gerald, and sister-in-law, Hattie, in 1907. These windows and several others were salvaged during the destruction of the house in 1967. Several of the other windows have been purchased and placed in prominent locations and collections, including one in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and another in the Bank of America Permanent Collection. This window has been extensively vetted and authenticated. It comes with aforementioned documents and authentication. The window is approximately 39" by 24", and is composed of rectangular panels of clear glass that are embellished with geometric tiles, with wonderful and prominent iridescence throughout. These tiles range in color, from green to orange to various shades of cream. CONDITION: The window is in excellent condition, with no missing tiles and no signs of cracking or damage to the tiles.
