This is a wonderful collection of wood carved figural match holders. (A) A figural match holder in the form of a bearded, hooded religious man carrying a basket for the matches. It shows great relief and design. CONDITION: There are no breaks, cracks or repairs. (B) A figural match holder in the form of fox carrying a basket for the matches, as well as a basket of food and bottle of wine. It is most likely carved walnut with great design and relief. CONDITION: There are no breaks, cracks or repairs, but it has light areas of wear. (C) A figural cheroots and match holder in the form of an old man of the north with long beard. It shows carved holes for six small cigars, as well as carrying a basket for matches. It has been most likely carved out of walnut with a light patina. CONDITION: There are no breaks, cracks or repairs in the light patina. (D) A figural match holder in the form of a sitting gentleman with a cane, as well as a cheroot and match holder. This particular piece would hold five cheroots, and has a match striker added to the back for the matches. It has a great design and relief carved out of walnut. CONDITION: It shows great patina with no cracks, breaks or repairs.
