Ca. 1889In a brass-mounted bird’s eye maple box with a fitted interior lined in blue cloth, each piece with a broad flat handle bright-cut engraved with sprays of roses and initialed M, comprising:12 Table forks, 12 Luncheon forks, 6 tablespoons, 6 dessert spoons, 9 teaspoons, and serving pieces with gilt bowls, including a pie server with a presentation inscription on reverse of blade, a soup ladle, a gravy ladle, a berry spoon, a sugar spoon, a butter knife, a mustard spoon, a pair of salt spoons, 12 mother-of-pearl handled dinner knives and 12 luncheon knives all with plated blades, and a 3-piece carving set. Pie server engraved Presented to/ Hon. John W. Morrison./Chief Clerk/-of the-/House of Representatives/Penna. 1889. Wear to most pieces; some corrosion on blades and on carving set, minor splits in box. (81)Weight of silver: 71 oz.***Wear to fork tines and ends of bowls.
