Once thought to be English, recent research suggests these dolls were made by Schlaggenwald. Solid dome shoulder head with pink toned flesh (pock mark on forehead), tapered black eyebrows, red eyelid line, black eyelash line, dark blue eyes with white highlight, rosy cheeks, closed mouth with upturned lip, molded ears, brown human hair wig with coiled braids; very deep shoulder plate with special modeling below neck and suggestion of breasts; cloth body with tied-on china lower limbs (thumb glued on one hand, one leg repaired or replaced); lovely period blue wool 2-piece dress with hoop, replaced leather shoes. Beautiful and rare!
