While the blade is suriage and mumei, is still approximately 73.5cm of classic shingoi zukuri form with an iori mune and a chu kissaki. Well cut bo-hi that runs into the nakago. Jigane somewhat difficult to see due to state of polish but appears to be a mixed itame and mokume. Well done choji hamon in nie deki with significant areas of heavy nie, sunagashi, and a maru boshi with hakikake. One piece habaki made to look like a two piece with gold and silver foiling. With a fabulous set of tachi mounts with a finely textured himei black lacquer saya with shakudo fittings, including an exquisite koijiri in the form of waves, with gold and silver dots used to represent the crashing foam. Katakiribori tsuba with design of a tiger in roaring at the moon while next to a river and bamboo forest, with the other side depicting a raging waterfall, with spray also decorated with gold dots. The shakudo fuchi has three family mon inlaid in gold, with kiri mon menuki, seafoam green tsuka-ito, and black same. Kabuto gane also with two repeated family mon. CONDITION: Blade is in good polish with some surface spiderwebbing mostly in the lower half of the ha. The mounts are excellent with some handling marks and rubs, some spots of same have shrunk away, exposing slivers of wood core. A nice sword to a well respected maker, already papered and mounted.
