1890, SWISS: This Nicole Freres cylinder music box plays a 16 - 1/3" cylinder with eight ayers (tunes) and has an organ feature adding to the superb sound. The dual combs are clearly marked for Nicole Freres, and there is a clear maker's label on the inside. This example comes with an original table and is cased in a wonderful burl and mixed woods cabinet. CONSIDERATIONS: The burl wood cabinet and matching table show light signs of wear and use, some abrasions and veneer cracks, but nothing to distract from a wonderfully made cabinet. The lid of the music box has a slight warp. Mechanically the music box plays perfectly, but it is important to note that on some of the eight tunes, the organ component is a bit overpowering.
