A very nice medal group named to a Sergeant who served with the Royal Canadian Artillery during the North-West Rebellion. The North West Canada Medal is a British campaign medal awarded to soldiers, volunteers, and North-West Mounted Police personnel who participated in suppressing the North-West Rebellion in 1885. The medals were issued unnamed and are mostly encountered with private engravings. The lot consists of: (A) North West Canada Medal privately engraved in block capitals to "No 1666 GUNNER W. FELLOWS "B" BATTERY R.C.A.". The medal displays the Saskatchewan clasp. The clasp was awarded to those present at any of the 3 main encounters during the rebellion. Approximately 1,760 medals were awarded with the clasp. CONDITION: Nice patina, good overall. (B) Canadian Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal privately stamped to the same soldier, "1908 Sergeant W. Fellows, Royal Canadian G.A." CONDITION: Dark patina, faded ribbon, good overall.
