SST Smaltz on Wood Frame. This c. 1930s single-sided tin sign from Case Tractors and Farm Implements shows wonderful reflective smaltz paint with the iconic company eagle and globe logo. CONDITION: The field of the sign retains great color and appeal. There are scuffs and scratches to the smaltz finish in the field, where it appears some attempted to scrape some letters into the paint. The red "Case" letters show light fading to the color. The eagle graphic shows some vertical discolored marks in the globe section of the graphic. The wood frame shows paint loss and general wear, however it remains solid and ready to hang. A beautiful and thoughtfully made sign.
