Maker Marked "O'Henry Tent & Awning Company. Chicago." This large hand painted canvas banner features outstanding colors and graphics of Robert and Ralph, the famous American Siamese Twins. Although no signature can be made out, this banner was likely painted by artist Fred G. Johnson (1892-1990). The banner hangs from a strip of wood with old rope attachments. CONDITION: The banner shows light tattering and wear to the color in the field. There are a few rips to the material near the outer corners, but nothing that keeps the banner from displaying nicely. The leather attachment pieces in the bottom corners show tearing and deterioration. An outstanding and attractive piece of American folk art history.
