Single Sided Paper. This C. 1920's framed lithograph from Fern Glen Rye Whiskey is an untrimmed and unused printer's proof of what would have been the final lithographed sign. This sign is printed in reverse and still shows its original registration marks and cut lines on the outer border. The graphic depicts an African American man holding a watermelon and a chicken, finding a bottle of whiskey that fell off the wagon seen in the background. CONDIITON: The field of this lithograph shows one lengthy vertical crack in the paper, which starts at the bottom border and extends up into the center of the sign. The outer field and edges show a few scattered crinkles and bubbling to the paper, likely due to the custom mat holding the sign in the frame.
