Very scarce pre-Civil War era cavalry shell jacket. 24" long 12-button jacket in the pre-Civil War Dragoon pattern issued to non-commissioned officers and enlisted troopers. The collar piping and trim are in the style and color (orange) of the Dragoons. CONDITION: The butternut wool lining shows light wear and minor sweat stains, but overall condition is excellent with no fading or moth damage. Federal regulation buttons are all original and correct. Contract makers stamp to RH inside sleeve and size "3" stamp. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Wagner cavalry museum collection.
