Mississippian 1100-600 B.P. Shell Tempered Pottery. A large Crosono swirl bottle with flared neck, decorated in the rare “red on buff” style. Typical neck use wear which has worn away part of the painted “stair step” design. This bottle is solid. Several chips on the flared base with a 1” spot of obvious old repair on the base.
