A real nice Pan Handle Route lantern. It is a single guard A&W model that was cleaned long ago and is in excellent condition. The chimney vent filigree was straightened in one small area and does not distract. The A&W patent stamp is present in the base with last patent date of 1882. There is also an 1878 patent date stamped in the side of chimney. The globe is a stunner, nicely embossed "P. C. C. & StL. R." in a rectangular panel. There are no notable condition issues. The lantern and globe are excellent. Scale rating 9.
