This sword is featured in plate 140.SS on page 350 of "Battle Weapons of the American Revolution" by George C. Neumann. The slightly curved American-made blade has a deep fuller on each side. The hand forged iron 'D' guard has a forward curved quillon and a domed pommel cap. The grip is of spiral cut bone. CONDITION: Blade shows a dark grey patina with scattered areas of corrosion. Hilt retains a spotted grey patina. Grip has a composite section that has been professionally replaced and salmon paint has been added over joints. A very nice completely American made piece. PROVENANCE: George C. Neumann Collection, his tag with number is still on the ricasso, the Collection of George M. Rapport. DMG
