Italian (Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont) Pattern 1751 Short Sword. 24-3/4" X 1-5/8" wide single-edge curved blade, etched within the fuller "VIVE LE ROY DE SARDAIGNE" ( LONG LIVE THE KING OF SARDINIA) on one side and with the coat-of-arms of the ruling dynasty of the Kingdom of Sardinia the House of Savoy on the opposite side. Brass stirrup hilt guard and leather covered grip with single wire wrap. CONDITION: Hilt and grip in very good condition showing moderate wear. Blade is mostly smooth and grey with areas of dark staining. DG
