English silver hallmarks with a crowned lion, a walking lion, a "J", and a maker mark of "JC"? (tarnished and difficult to read) on D guard. Colichemarde blade measures 31 - 1/2" and is decorated for the first 8" with simple line engraving of florals and geometrics. Crossguard decorated on each ear with a panoply of arms. D guard with lovely floral decorations, including a helmet just below the crossguard, and a pair of grotesques on either side of the pommel. Grip is made of intertwining woven and braided wire. CONDITION: Overall good. Blade has been cleaned in the European fashion with some spotted darkness and polish marks. Engraving softened. Silver has had a surface level cleaning, with deep tarnish in the recesses. Overall loose, but well presenting. EMW
