A Third Reich Luftwaffe Officer Sword made by the firm of SMF. The nickel plated steel blade is maker marked with the logo of "SMF", as well as the Luftwaffe acceptance stamp. The blade retains all its bright nickel plating with very minimal traces of drag marks from the scabbards runners. The aluminum cross guard and pommel feature a central gilded swastika on both sides which have developed a very light patina in the recesses of the aluminum. The grip is made of a Moroccan blue leather wrapped wood core, which is bound with a double twist aluminum cord. No damage can be seen anywhere on the grip. The scabbard features an aluminum throat and drag with a matching light patina, like that of the guard and pommel. The main body of the scabbard is nicely wrapped with blue Moroccan leather, which shows no damage at all. The original blue leather hanger is still originally attached to the scabbard. A beautiful and untouched Luftwaffe Officers Sword with Aluminum fittings. CONDITION: Near Mint. D.W.
