T. & P. RY. HANDLAN BUCK "THE HANDLAN" RAILROAD LANTERN WITH AMBER EMBOSSED GLOBE.

This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/9/2020

This is the double guard "The Handlan" steel guard 1889 patent model, made for the Texas & Pacific Ry. The frame is tight and straight with a nice patina and traces of red paint. There is a faintly stamped, illegible serial number and a small stress crack above the latch guide in the reflector. The fount fits snugly, is correct for this model, and is equipped with a functioning No. 1 ratchet burner. The extended base No. 39 globe is a beautiful honey amber color. Embossed lettering relief is crisp. Rims are excellent with a few minor flakes, nothing distracting. Scale rating 8.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 10 - 1/2" x 7 - 3/8" x 7 - 3/8".
