Large 1820s to 1840s English-made folding dirk with spear point blade. Slab mother-of-pearl fluted slab grips are held in place with 3 silver pins on each side. Nice early example made for the American market. Scarce to find one in this size. Retains original German silver mounts with sturdy double-edged blade. No maker mark. CONDITION: Opens tightly with a snap, but a bit loose once closed. Blade show moderate gray mossing with typical wear scratches, but has no heavy pitting or nicks to either edge.
