Solid example of a US 1840s to pre-Civil War era period maple drum. Nicely centered eagle over a draped flag on an 18" panel. Drum is 17" tall and 16" across the top. Reverse panel of plain maple adorned with typical tacked design. Rims, ropes, heads, and tugs appear to be all original. Rims retain original red paint. Includes period leather carrying strap and set of sticks. Remnants of maker label with eagle visible through peep hole. CONDITION. Period original with typical alligator heat crazing to center panel and painted rims.
