U.S. Army Model 1881 Officer's Full Dress Chapeau, of beaver felt with black silk cockade measuring 3" by 5", on which is a gilt bullion- bordered gold strip the upper end with bullion eagle lower end with gilt staff button. Ostrich feather plume extending to the rear, gold bullion tassels at either end. Interior embossed "Ridabock & Co/ Formerly/ Baker & McKinney/ Military Goods/ 141 Grand Street New York". Contained in its original Japanned tin case with "Ridabock & Co/ 141/ Grand St/ New York" brass label. CONDITION: Chapeau shows minor wear on the interior embossing only, save for that, the chapeau in mint condition. Tin case exhibits moderate wear to the finish. Also includes: A pair of Model 1872 2nd Cavalry officer's shoulder knots with eagle "C" buttons at the upper end, a pair of Indian War period Staff Colonel shoulder straps with bullion eagles embroidered on black wool, Single 1870-80's Cavalry Lieutenant shoulder strap, Model 1902 General officer's silk sash with satin backing, hidden buckles and 10" knot/tassels. CONDITION: All exhibit some minor wear, fading and staining. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
