This example was manufactured by H. Aston & Co., dated 1847 on lock, along with "U.S." and maker stamp. Barrel is stamped with "S.K." inspectors stamp and proof P. Metal is in the white, clean with some light pitting. Nice brass. Excellent stock with no repairs or cracks. .54 caliber smooth bore with a 8-1/2" round barrel with some light pitting. Perfect action. These pistols were manufactured from 1845 to 1852.
