DSP. Incredibly rare C. 1930's Porcelain Service Station Sign for Mobil Gasoline showing an iconic and figural Mobil Pegasus mounted on its original iron bracket. CONDITION: Side one is overall excellent showing excellent color & gloss throughout the chip free field. Side one shows one light nick at the tail as well as one light nick at the upper foot. Side one shows some moderate staining in the white that should remove easily if desired, Grade 8.9. Side two also shows excellent color & gloss throughout the field showing no chipping in the inner field with only one chip at the upper left foot. Side two shows a scratch like factory flaw near the tail as well as some moderate outer edge staining in the white that should removed if desired. Sign shows very unique factory made flanges at the wings and feet that attach it to the original iron frame. The original iron frame is also in excellent condition showing average age wear with an excellent patina to it. An incredibly rare piece of Mobil Porcelain Signage that displays very well.
