C. 1900-1915. Whitney Reed Chair Co. Wooden Glider Rocking Horse. American carved and painted wooden glider rocking horse featuring a large horse posed at full gallop with extended legs, painted facial features and eyes, applied leather ears, and natural horsehair mane and tail. Fitted with a leather saddle, bridle and reins, metal bit, stirrups and decorative saddle blanket with braided fringe. Horse is mounted on its characteristic red-painted wooden glider stand with curved supporting members, iron swing rods and yellow-gold carriage striping and scroll decoration to the outer rails. Plate on underside of horse reads "Wild Billie Boy Dec 25, 1910".
