Decent representative example of a completely rigged 1910 - WWI-era McClellan saddle. This is the Model of 1904, second pattern, with the round safes for the rigging. Maker stamped 'WER. SOL. CO. / 1918' on the round safes with inspector stamp 'F.B.R.' About 1/3 of the sheepskin wool lining remains. The circa WWI two-ply leather over wood hooded stirrups bear the proper raised 'U.S.' stamp to the front. Retains a proper mohair belly cinch and M1904 cavalry saddle bags. CONDITION: Very good with mostly supple leather, rigging, and brass rings intact.
WWI ERA MCCLELLAN SADDLE.
