This small strong box, circa 1880, is green in color with off-white lettering. The interior of the box is stamped "Manufactured by J.Y. Ayer 3740 Seventeenth St. S.F. Cal." There is paint loss throughout the finish of the box, as well as chips to the wood, however, the original leather handles remain.
