C. 1940. Pace Manufacturing Co., Chicago IL. This figural slot machine stand holds a Pace $1 slot machine. Contrary to many opinions, the "Cocktail Waitress" was not originally conceived as a waitress, but as a cigarette girl holding a small cigarette vending machine. An employee of the Harold's Club was used by Frank Polk for the carving, and the waitress figure used for this example resembles that carving used for the "Cigarette Girl" prototype. See the "Loose Change Magazine" article in the April 1980 edition. The cocktail waitress is dressed in traditional wear for the time, and the slot machine is a difficult $1 denomination to find. There is a signature of carver Frank Polk on the back of her neck clearly visible. CONDITION: Wearing black fishnets and a white one-piece, with matching beaded necklace and earrings. The slot machine has an aluminum cast body in chrome with red details. The award card and three reel strips appear new. In working condition. One key.
This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.
