Manufactured in the 1890s by the Chicago Firearms Company. Nickel finished throughout with a 1 - 3/4" barrel chambered in .32 Protector (short rimfire). Barrel is lightly engraved with a floral motif band. The left side of the receiver is also engraved with a foliate motif surrounding a donut shaped checkered hard rubber pad with the center stamped with "THE PROTECTOR" model name and patent information. The opposing side of the body is a removable cover with a knurled rim surrounding another donut shaped pad with "CHICAGO FIRE ARMS CO." and "CHICAGO, ILL." stamped at the center. This cover is removed to load the 7-shot cylinder. An additional checkered hard rubber pad is mounted to the squeeze trigger. CONDITION: Overall very good. The vast majority of the factory applied nickel finish is retained with some minor spots of loss and wear. Hard rubber pads likewise show some period wear. Fine bore and mechanics. Matching serial numbers observed on receiver, sideplate, and cylinder. BAS
