Dramatically patterned, laminated steel barrels are engraved "Blissett & Son Liverpool" on game rib with dolls head extension. Bottoms of barrels are stamped with Birmingham black powder proofs. Case hardened top lever action is fitted with bar spring locks with low mounted round bodied re-bounding serpentine hammers. Action and locks are engraved with scroll borders. "Blissett & Son" is on each lockplate. Blued trigger guard has serial number on tang. Very attractive, nicely fiddle figured and well marbled European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-3/16" over checkered horn buttplate. Flat top point pattern checkering is at grip, and a vacant silver oval is on toe line. Matching splinter forend with shaped horn tip has Deeley release. Gun is housed in new LL Bean case. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain over 90% original brown, silvered at breech ends from normal hand wear. Action and locks retain approximately 80% original case hardening color, silvered from normal hand wear on fences and beads. Stocks retain nearly all of their original oil finish with a number of light marks and scratches associated with casual field use. Checkering is lightly worn. Bores are excellent with some scattered light pits (may clean). Barrels do not appear to have been cut. Action is tight with forend installed; a touch off face. MGM 42.
