Manufactured in 1883. Gun looks to be New York engraved. It has a full coverage of scrolls and foliate with a punch dot background. Screws have all been checkered. It has been fully copper plated and then had a gold wash applied. 1-line address on top of the barrel. Roll die caliber designation on the left side of the barrel. Caliber designation is also on the left front trigger bow. 3-line patent dates on the left forward of the frame. Matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard and back strap. Carved and checkered Mastodon Mexican eagle and snake 1-piece grip. CONDITION: Gun retains 40% of the gold wash finish. Gun locks up and indexes fine. Bore is a little dark with fair lands and grooves. The grips show some wear and some shrinkage.

CORRECTION: This revolver is accompanied by a Colt factory letter listing it as shipped to Simmons Hardware Company, St. Louis, Missouri as a .45 Colt with unlisted barrel length, blued, and unlisted stocks in a shipment of 50.
