Pistol conforms to Flayderman specification. Round barrel has remnants of a single P in an oval proof and no other markings. The lock is simply stamped J. HENRY. Pinned walnut full stock of standard configuration, as are simple brass trigger guard and butt cap. Pistol has long belt hook, which appears to be period, indicating possible naval use. CONDITION: Barrel is smooth over minor pitting. Lock is clean, hammer appears to have all original small parts. Touch hole shows no pitting, possibly indicative of a reconversion; however, pan, frizzen, and hammer show pitting consistent with original flintlock. Ramrod is a modern replacement. Stock is good, with no significant damage and showing an old cleaning now assuming an attractive hand-worn patina. Action is good. Bore is fair. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
