Circa 1810-1820. Two-stage flared blunderbuss barrel with two indistinct proofs on left side of breech and some scroll engraving on first few inches of top three flats. Convex lockplate marked "PRITCHETT". Brass baluster ramrod ferrule and engraved brass trigger guard. Made without a buttplate. Walnut stock and modern wood ramrod with brass tip. CONDITION: Barrel shows extensive wear and is polished showing some lacquer overtop. Lock retains a grey patina and is in its original flintlock configuration. Frizzen screw, frizzen spring, frizzen spring screw and cock screw are modern replacements. Brass trigger guard has a modern screw added to finial. Stock shows scattered cracks and marks from use, some repairs to wood around lock. A large and attractive blunderbuss.
