Manufactured in 1862 during the American Civil War. Standard 8" round .44 caliber barrel with single line New York address, German silver front sight blade, rebated 6-shot percussion cylinder with naval engagement scene, recoil shield cut for shoulder stock, iron back strap, brass trigger guard, and single piece smooth walnut grips. No martial markings visible, likely denoting civilian sale. CONDITION: Fair with cleaned light pitting throughout and an overall silver patina. Markings faint, with majority of cylinder scene not visible. Wedge retaining screw marred. Brass polished. Grips good with scattered marks, a chip on the right toe, and some finish added. Good shootable bore. Cylinder does not advance when hammer is cocked. Numbers matching on barrel, frame, cylinder, and trigger guard. BAS
