(A) COLT ARTILLERY MODEL SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER.
Originally produced in 1874. Features the early style script one line barrel address, two line patent dates, and US property markings on the frame. The numbers are no longer matching, because during the Ordnance recall of Cavalry revolvers to be converted to Artillery revolvers the guns were disassembled, inspected and reassembled without concern to match the numbers. The grips are one piece walnut and feature the inspection cartouche of Rinaldo Carr, 1903. CONDITION: The revolver retains much of its original finish. The blued barrel shows feathering on each side of the front sight and high edge wear, the blue finish showing plum underneath. The trigger guard and back straps show blue with thinning in most areas. The case colors remain on most of the frames surfaces and are very strong. The bore shows light pin pricking in the grooves and moderate wear to the lands. Mechanically fine with all four clicks, bore very good with moderate frosting throughout.
