Dates to 1895. Patterned along the lines of the 1889, this was Colt's second swing out cylinder double action model revolver that was quickly adopted for military use. This is a commercial model with the nickel finish and Colt gutta percha grips. CONDITION: Very good. This example retains the majority of its reapplied nickel finish including the hammer and trigger. The grips are a bit ill fitting with small chips at back frame pins and have "48" etched inside. Most of the legends are visible but barrel patent dates have thinned. Needs mechanical attention to advance and lock cylinder. Bore is bold but shows some frosting.
