Distinct .476 Enfield Mark II revolver in. 476 with "break action" extractor and loading gate on right side. Wide checkered spurred hammer. Half moon front sight dovetailed onto island, simple notch rear across top strap. Cathedral steeple cylinder with a "(Crown) / E / 85" on rear face. Double broad arrow indicating decommission out of military use on left side of top strap. Marked with " (Arrow) / WD // (Crown) / 53 / E // '91" on left side of frame. "S" behind recoil shield. "(Crown) / BR / 4(?, indistinct)" on lug in front of cylinder. "(Crown) VR / ENFIELD / 1882 / IL" on right side of frame near spur. Matching serials on barrel lug and frame. Non-rotatable lanyard loop. Smooth grips. CONDITION: Good, metal has been polished to a smooth dove grey throughout, with flashes of color in protected areas and some spotted mossing throughout. A few spots of light peppering throughout, mostly visible on frame. Grips are very good, smooth, with some shrinkage away from frame. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong rifling and minor frosting. EMW
