Lot #1079:
(A) ENGRAVED GERMANIC NEEDLE FIRE 12 BORE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN.
This early European shotgun features the under lever forearm barrel release, exposed small hammers, dual triggers, checkered straight grip walnut stock with roll over cheek piece, smooth steel butt plate, swivels and matching checkered forearm. The browned Damascus twist barrels display one small bead sight. The trigger guard is steel but the tail extension is horn. Gun exhibits nearly full coverage oak leaf engraving on both areas of frame, the lever and trigger guard. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Hammer springs need attention, cannot pull back and set. The barrels are a smooth homogenous patina with great pattern. Stock is excellent with as new checkering, possible recut. Bores show residue. Very unusual and ornate gun.
